Sustainability and Certifications

Sustainability

Protecting our planet’s non-renewables is on everyone’s mind, as is establishing widespread use of ecologically viable resources. As consumers, how we spend our dollars influences which industries thrive, and which ones become obsolete. We all have the power to create a culture that is making decisions that include what is best for our planet.

Resthouse chooses products made with these ingredients: natural and certified organic cotton and rubber latex and eco/organic wool that are sustainably and ethically sourced, following strict social and environmental standards. We think of it as a win-win for people and the planet when we obtain what we need for our healthiest sleep, while also taking care of our precious Earth.

At Resthouse we are very proud to have partnered with companies that hold the following certifications. These are independent third party governing certification organizations that oversee all industries, and are impartial. Learn to recognize the logos of these important organic organizations, as they accurately represent products and brands that are truly certified.

Certifications

Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the leading standard for organic textiles. This organization established comprehensive rules for ecological and socially responsible textile production. A GOTS certification ensures the organic status of textiles from harvesting of raw materials, through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing, and then all the way to labeling in order to provide credible assurance to the consumer.

Global Organic Latex Standard (GOLS)

The Global Organic Latex Standard (GOLS) features permissible limits for harmful substances, emission test requirements and polymer and filler percentages. Rubber plantations as well as processing units up to the final retailer are certified according to the standard. By using transaction certificates at every sale of a product in the supply chain, traceability from the plantation to the final retailer is ensured.
