This beautiful, Canadian-made, certified organic Obasan mattress foundation is great as a replacement for your old boxspring or to provide support on your bed frame. Do you need a box spring? No - you do not need a box spring for new mattresses. Modern mattresses do not need a boxspring. However, you do need a bed base of some form for your mattress. The slats in these foundations actually provide better support and breathability (and therefore better sleep!) than springs. 

The Obasan Studio Knit Foundation is made in Canada and sits atop your existing bed frame. For perfect support as well as breathability, this foundation features 2" wood slats that keep your body aligned and your temperature regulated while you sleep. Available in a low profile 4" or standard 8" heights, this zero-toxin foundation is wrapped in organic cotton jersey fabric and padded with organic wool. 

Our Queen and King size foundations also come in a split, two-piece version for easy installation and to accommodate tight staircases.
