What is Kapok?
Ceiba Pentandra (kapok) trees are found in tropical areas, including Mexico, Central America, South America, the Caribbean, West Africa, and Southeast Asia.
Kapok is a fine fluffy cotton-like substance that is used historically to fill mattresses, pillows, tapestries, and dolls. It is often used as an alternative to down. Kapok has recently been replaced in commercial use by synthetic fibers although it is making a strong comeback.
Harvested from the kapok tree, kapok is the fibre that makes the fill for one of our customizable pillows. Our pillows are overstuffed with Kapok to give the sleeper the option to pull out fill and re-introduce as needed. All pillows compress and our belief is, it is nice to have some extra material around for when it does.
For a pillow lover that likes to manipulate and pull into different places, this pillow is a winner. Supportive, soft and cozy.
